How will you find out where my child is?
Look for a real diagnostic assessment and a written learning plan, not just a placement by grade. Ask what happens if the assessment shows your child is ahead in one area and behind in another.
Who will work with my child, and will it be the same person?
Continuity matters. Ask who the adults are, how they were chosen and trained, and whether your child will see the same person over time. A child opens up to someone who knows them.
Ask how they find out where your child is.
How will I know it’s working?
Ask what you’ll hear, how often and in what form. Plain-language updates about specific skills are far more useful than a general sense that things are going fine.
What happens when my child gets stuck, and how do you use AI?
Ask how they find the cause of a difficulty rather than repeating the same practice. Then ask how technology and AI are used, and who is doing the thinking when they are. Clear answers to both are a good sign.
