On a folded-paper island at night, a girl looks through a telescope at the moon while her mentor points up at it, beside an easel with a simple chart and a table with an open notebook and a globe.

What the assessment looks at

Every Hikmah program begins with a diagnostic assessment. It looks at what your child knows in math, reading and writing, and also at how they work: whether they explain their thinking, how they respond when a question gets hard, and where they start to guess. The report will describe each part in plain language.

Adaptive, not a race

The questions change as your child answers. A secure answer moves things forward; a shaky one sends us gently back to the skill underneath. That keeps the assessment shorter and calmer, and it means time goes where the useful information is. Your child isn’t given a score to compare with anyone; the result is a starting point for a plan.

The assessment is a starting point, not a score.

The short version

From results to a learning plan

The assessment feeds a written learning plan: where to begin, what to fix first, and what your child is ready to stretch toward. A mentor reads the results alongside a conversation with your child and with you, because some things only show up when you talk.

The limits of any single assessment

One sitting on one day is a snapshot. A child who is tired, anxious or new to the room may not show what they can do. We’ll explain how the plan is adjusted in the first weeks as the mentor gets to know your child, and why we never treat a diagnostic result as a label.

What you’ll take away

  1. 01The assessment is a starting point, not a score.
  2. 02It looks at how your child thinks, not only what they know.
  3. 03The first weeks refine what one sitting can’t show.

Every child deserves to be known. Let’s start with yours.

Come and meet us. Founding families get a free diagnostic assessment that shows exactly where your child is, before you decide anything.
